I have an enormous respect for our service men and women and the sacrifices they make for us every day. It is a privilege to have the Royal Military Academy at Sandhurst within the Bracknell constituency.

We must ensure that those (and the families of those) who are prepared to risk so much for us get a fair deal, particularly when they come home injured or where families are devestated by the loss of a loved one. That’s why I am supporting the Royal British Legion’s 2015 manifesto.

I also believe that we must pursue a more peaceful world; a world in which we no longer need to ask for such sacrifices from our brave services personnel. In particular I believe that Britain should be leading the way in working towards global nuclear disarmament, beginning by firmly rejecting a like for like replacement of the outdated Trident deterrent, saving billions that can be better spent on other public services and on properly equipping our front line troops.
